How to Register

  1. Online registration deadline : fill up the registration form and submit your work and other related documents starting from today to the 8th of August 23:59 (GMT+8)
    1. Click here for the registration form
  2. Personal & Team information: Please double check your personal information such as name, phone number, email, name of your team and the team introduction.
  3. Reminders for First-round work submission:
    1. Content: Please make sure to include your theme, target audience, research method, solution proposal and your prototype or product.
    2. Format: Please make sure that work is submitted in PDF format with the file named “2021 CFG_topics_team name”. Works that are not submitted according to the format given will not be accepted.
  4. Note:
    1. Each team shall only present one work, teams that violate the regulation will be disqualified.

For 2021 CFG participants, please see below details

1.
Can I change my research field during the contest ?

As long as your work remains within the theme of solving gender related issues in one of the five fields provided, change of topic or field will be allowed. Please inform your leader to reach out to us at :[email protected]

2.
Is it possible to increase the number of our team during the contest?

As long as your team is within the restrictions given (minimum of 2, maximum of 6), you will be allowed to increase team members.

3.
Can I join another team during the contest?

As long as consensus is reached among team members, you are allowed to join other teams. Please make sure to inform us and make the necessary changes no later than June 30th (23:59 GMT+8)

4.
How can I participate in Google Champion’s discussion?

The qualifications for participants to join Google Champion’s discussion are to participate in ALL of the events below :

-Opening Ceremony
-Online Courses, May
-Hackathon Concept Development workshop, June
-Proposal workshop, August
-Hackathon Award Ceremony, September

Due to COVID-19, our Hackathon Concept Development Workshop was held online instead, with a limited number of participants. Thus the Hackathon Concept Development Workshop will be removed from the qualification list. Meaning any individuals who participate in ALL of the remaining four events listed above will be qualified to participate in Google Champion's Discussion.

Why did we increase the number of applications?

Utilizing technology to solve gender related issues is the outcome of CFG. By increasing the number of applications, we hope that this will encourage more participants to join and showcast their creativities hence contributing to solving gender related issues.

Who is the CFG Hackathon for?

Hackathon is for anyone ! The outcome for the Hackathon is to solve gender related issues through technology. So if you are creative and passionate about technology and innovation, form your team and join us!

What’s so special about the CFG Hackathon?

Through teamwork interactions, CFG Hackathon hopes to inspire ideas and creativity that solves gender related issues in various fields. By the end of Hackathon, teams are to submit a video prototype of their ideas and concept. ( For those who are interested in creating an actual web or to develop a complete application, we are excited to have you too!)

Are there any highlights or past works that we could view from previous Hackathons?

How will each group discussion and meeting be held?

Teams are free to schedule their meetings and discussions according to their preferences. In addition to the CFG main event series, we will not conduct any official scheduled meetings.

Terms and Conditions

Legal Ownership
  1. Submissions should be original, previously unpublished work not currently under review by other publications. Participants who violate the terms shall be disqualified with awards being revoked. In addition, participants are solely responsible for any legal liabilities such as copyright infringement or intellectual property rights.
  2. Consensus related to the interests of rights and copyrights should be reached among team members before submitting their work. In addition, teams are to provide acknowledgements to the CFG Hackathon committee before the final submission. Participants are solely responsible for any disputes.
  3. Copyright of the work submitted belongs to either the Team or individual members. Participants should be responsible for any rights related issue. By registering for the contest, the participant agrees to the review of entire’s content as well as the use of content for publicity or purposes related to the CFG Hackathon Event. In addition, no fees shall be issued from the CFG Hackathon due to any copyrights issue. However, team and team members will be credited if the CFG Hackathon is to use any of the work submitted.
  4. Winning participants will agree to be regarded as the author as well as transfer the copyrights of their work to the CFG Hackathon. The CFG Hackathon or any other units that are authorized by the CFG Hackathon will obtain rights to publish the work solely for publicity and event promotion purposes and shall not re-publish, edit, modify, claim nor recreate any of the winning entries. Winning participants shall not raise objections and any forms of fees shall not be further issued from the CFG Hackathon to the winning participants.
  5. By entering the contest, participants will agree to the terms and conditions above.
  6. All materials including documents, CDs, tools, images and videos submitted will not be returned.
Application Regulations
  1. Fraudulent use or misappropriation of third party information is not allowed in the applications. Applicants who violated the term will be disqualified. If any legal related disputes are to be raised during the contest, all members of the participating team shall bear the relevant legal liabilities.
  2. By participating in the contest, all participants shall be deemed to have agreed to the regulations of this contest. If any terms are to be changed due to unaccomplished matter or force majeure, official announcements will be made on the official website. Announcements will not be made to individuals.
Personal Information
  1. This event is jointly organized by Womany and Google. According to the needs of the event, personal information such as name, phone number, email address or any directly identifiable personal information will be required for the contest.
  2. Participants will agree to the usage of the above information for event purposes such as system updates, notification related to the award certificate and reward related issue, events updates and event survey. Personal information will not be shared with any third parties.
  3. Be sure that the email provided is in use as information related to contest admission and contest updates will be delivered through email. The finalists will be announced on the 23rd of August and the winning ceremony will be held on the 26th of September. Please be sure to check your email and our official website for the latest updates.
Contest Terms and Condition
  1. CFG Hackathon is not responsible for any delay, loss, error, illegibility or damaged entries due to personal or technical issues that are not caused by CFG Hackathon.
  2. The participating team guarantees that the participating information and materials provided to this event, including but not limited to participating proposals, graphics, presentations, videos and other materials, does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others or violate related laws and regulations. If violated, participants will be disqualified.
  3. All entries must be the creation of the participating team, meaning no plagiarism should be included in any of the participating entries. Participants who violate the following circumstances shall bear all legal responsibilities and to be disqualified from participating in the contest including the revocation of awards.

    a. Entry is reported and proved to be created or done by a third party or the infringement of intellectual property rights.
    b. Entries that involves obscenity, violence, pornographym slander, racial discrimination are consdiered to have violated the public order and principles of morality.
    c. The content of the work infringes or damages the goodwill of the event organizer or other third party.

Event Rescheduled
  1. If the event is prevented from being held as scheduled due to events of force majeure such as typhoon, earthquake, storm or any other factor that causes the suspension of work to be announced by the Taipei City Government, the event will then be suspended in accordance with regulations and will be postponed. Participants will be notified separately in such cases.If the event needs to be postponed due to the reason mentioned above but the participating team is not able to cooperate with the postponed schedule, the participating team should inform the organizer of their inability to participate in the contest. The application deposit will be returned after review.
  2. It is understood that any matters that are not covered shall be handled in accordance with the organizer. The organizer reserves the final rights of explanation.
  3. Participants in this event have understood and agreed to abide by the terms above. In the case of rule violations, the organizer reserves the rights to cancel any rights of participants and their eligibility to receive prizes.
